The last time North Carolina amended their constitution on marriage it was to ban interracial marriage.
Look how ridiculously pitiful that seems today, and how irrelevant and ignorant the repulsive people who supported such hatred and bigotry are now perceived (if they are even remembered at all.) They were on the wrong side of the battle for civil and equal rights, and it won't be long before those who oppose marriage equality will be justifiably seen as equally ridiculous, pitiful, irrelevant, ignorant and wrong.
