great post. there aren't many writers ...David, <br />great post. there aren't many writers who can combine something so personally honest, with such great natural compassion. The last time I came upon grizzlies in the wild, I too had a bit of an epiphany. I had felt estranged in life, being alienated from my peers, and not knowing where I fit in, thinking that there must be some fundamental flaw with me. But then I watched two grizzlies deep in a WY mountain range, and I realized something about myself. I realized that I wasn't estranged, that I wasn't flawed, but that I had just been living a life separate from my design. I was designed for solitude and wilderness. So I quit my job and moved alone into an isolated forest in northern MN. I spent four months living alone out of a tent with no running water or electricity, and now I live in a small town with a small house, and a wife and daughter.
